Syncing Up with What Matters Most

What are the three things that are most important to you?

Go ahead, jot them down (bonus: also jot down why they are important to you):

  1.

  2.

  3.

Now what are the three things you spend most of your time doing – not intending to do, but actually doing?

Jot those down:

  1.

  2.

  3.

Now compare. Does what’s most important to you align with how you spend your time?

If not, what might you need to start doing, stop doing, do more of, or do less so that what you actually spend your time on better syncs with what you most value?

P.S. This isn’t just an exercise for individuals. It can be useful for teams and organizations too.
