Where’s the front door of your business?
If might not be where you think it is.
If your business has a physical space, the front door I’m talking about probably isn’t where the physical front door is located.
If your business is virtual, your front door probably isn’t your website.
Think about how your customer’s discover your business. Consider their journey. What’s their main point of entry into your business?
Oftentimes, the front door they enter through to your business doesn’t look like a physical front door at all. It might be a sandwich board sign on the side of the road, a recommendation from a friend, an interview on a podcast, a search engine query, a media article, a book, a video recommended on YouTube, a guest blog, a discussion in a virtual community, a social media post, a series of paid ads, a live event, a pop-up shop, or something else entirely.
Do you know where the front door to your business is?
If you don’t know where the front door is that most of your customers enter through, it’s challenging to make your main point of entry more inviting for those you seek to serve.
And if too few customers are finding their way into your business, it might be because you haven’t yet installed a welcoming front door in a location that’s easy for them to find.
